Our trip to Iowa

Jeff and I took a trip to Iowa to visit Brione, Dave and her family and to visit parts of his mission. We were not able to see as much of his mission that we wanted to, but most importantly we were able to go to Carroll Iowa and visit some families there.

We stopped and visited the Pettits and Lightings Family at the country club in Carroll Iowa. They are families from Jeff's mission.

While in Iowa, we went to visit the Sterns Family. They made us dinner. Their little nephew/grandson kept putting his arm around me. It was cute! That family is great! They are strong believers in "JEFF IS KING!"

Jeff did Aiden's hair. I think he looks like Edward Cullen from Twilight.

It was very hot in Iowa and humid. It was easy to become exhausted with the heat.

The Price family loves ice cream. We went to Dairy Queen a couple of times. Yummy!

I thought this was just really cute. Daddy/son.

We all went to an art garden. There was some really weird stuff there. A lot of it looked like nothing. There was a couple that even looked like very large pieces of poop. But it was fun to see it all.

We went to a really cool Chinese place next to a bridge. We all found our Chinese Year animals.

While in Iowa, we went to the Iowa State Capital. There were a lot of really cool things to look at and memorials. Some I did not get pictures of.

We went to a fun water park in Ankeny. Ariana dragged me around to all the fun water toys and Aiden ran around like a chicken with his head cut off, just excited to get wet!

Brione and I laid out on our towels to dry off, when we got up, our swimming suit marks stayed on the towels. Can you guess who's towel is who's?

Brione and I went on a walk in the rain. My umbrella kept going inside out because of the wind. We decided to dance and sing in the rain. We had a blast!

The kids got out a little tent and Ariana's jewelry, they had a ball!

We had to take the bus from the capitol to the fair. It was Jordyn's first time on a bus!

Jeff found a 5.0 car that he got really excited about.

There were quite a bit of John Deere Tractors at the fair. Apparently there is a John Deere factory in Iowa.

The kids had so much fun. They went on a lot of rides at the fair. The Meri-go-round, they let an adult ride with the little kids, so I got to go on that ride for free and for once, I didn't even get sick on it!

We were on our feet for a long time. Time to rest.

We needed a picture of something that showed we were really in Iowa. I saw this statue and thought, "Perfect!"

Brione and I were the only ones willing to be a cow. I think we have more fun than everyone else.

We went to the park right before Jeff and I started our trip home. Iowa has a lot of parks. The kids love it!

On our way home, we stopped in Wyoming to see Lindsay and Ryan. They gave us a tour of the ranch they work at. It was really good to see them again.
Lindsay let me feed this calf that doesn't have a mother. The calf was very skinny and she is trying to get him to gain weight. It was my first time feeding a calf!

Lindsay talked me into putting my finger in the calf's mouth. He only had teeth on I think it was the bottom of his mouth, so he wouldn't bite, just suck. He didn't like the flavor of my fingers very much. He preferred Lindsay's finger.

We hung out with the horses for a little while. This horse was extremely friendly and followed us everywhere. He even cam up behind me and nudged me in the back. Scared the day lights out of me!
